On behalf of our dedicated team, I am pleased to welcome you to the Stewart House School website.
Stewart House School, a NSW Department of Education ‘School for Specific Purposes,’ provides a nurturing, coeducational wellbeing program for children in Years 2 to 8 from government schools across NSW and the ACT. Each year, approximately 1,800 children join us for a transformative twelve-day experience designed to foster personal growth and resilience.
Our program focuses on enhancing students' physical, social, and emotional wellbeing by guiding them to set and achieve meaningful goals, at home and school. Through this unique opportunity, children gain a deeper understanding of the biological changes in the brain caused by stress and other factors, while also developing essential self-regulation skills to navigate life's challenges. We emphasise building resilience, cultivating connections with culture, peers, and staff and nurturing a strong sense of belonging to both family and community.
At Stewart House School, students embark on exciting excursions around Sydney every second day. These include visits to Taronga Zoo, the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Madame Tussauds, the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and bowling. These outings not only foster confidence but also encourage interaction and bonding among students, while offering enriching learning experiences.
When the weather permits, our teachers take their classes to the beach for a swim in the beautiful ocean pool at South Curl Curl, providing an additional opportunity for relaxation and connection with nature.
