Hi! My name is Jaimie and I'm the school counsellor at Stewart House School. A counsellor’s role is to provide students, teachers, and parents/carers with some extra support when needed to help foster the learning and social-emotional wellbeing of students.
I work three days across the students' twelve day stay at Stewart House and you can find me helping out in the classroom, on excursions, in the playground or at the beach. I talk to students individually about anything they might be finding difficult during their stay and offer compassion and assistance.
I am just one of the supportive adults that students have the opportunity to talk to whilst at Stewart House. Part of my job is also ensuring that children continue to feel safe, happy, and supported on their return home so I often liaise with carers and schools as well as other agencies to help facilitate this.
I am sure that you, your child, or your student will have a great stay at Stewart House and we look forward to meeting and supporting them during their stay.
