We are very excited to introduce our new Stewart House well-being dog Bowie.
Bowie Bear as he is affectionately known; has been a great addition to our Stewart House family.
He is a welcome distraction for the kids when waiting in line for health checks, a playful pal who joins along on walks to the beach and best of all; a soft, furry ball of love for children to connect with when they need a moment of self reflection.
We have been lucky to have Amy from Amy's puppy pre school come on-site and guide our staff in helping to teach Bowie how to be greeted by all, stay calm under pressure and deal with any sudden or loud noises.
He is a quick learner and has been a big hit with our first group of students this term.
Caring for a classroom animal teaches responsibility, builds confidence, and gives children a sense of pride and accomplishment.
