Twelve years ago Prime Minister Kevin Rudd issued a formal apology in Parliament on behalf of the government and people of Australia to the Stolen Generation.
Each year we take the opportunity to commemorate this momentous event and teach our students the significance of this event, asking questions such as:
What does Sorry day mean to you?
Do you think it is important to have a respectful relationship between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.
Is there anything you would like to see in the future to pay tribute to this significant day?
